In the 21st Century COE Program, “COE Formation in Frontier Life Sciences by Unifying Interactions”, international seminars have been held annually which were organized by graduate students in the Graduate School of Biostudies and the Institute for Virus Research, Kyoto University. Up till now, three seminars have been held. The 1st and 2nd seminars were lectures of the world’s top scientists. And the 3rd seminar featured the presentations of our own works in English by graduate students in this COE program.
Now, we will hold the 4th seminar in March 2006. The aim of this seminar is the exchange of studies and scientific experience among young scientists not only in Japan but also from all over the world and the forming of friendships with each other. So, we will invite young scientists from abroad. In this seminar, presentations of individual works in English will be held like in the last seminar. In addition, in order to communicate with more people beyond scientific fields, we will hold a discussion session in which various subjects of lifescience and so on will be discussed. And you will be able to experience Japanese culture in the historic city, Kyoto.
We hope that young scientists will discuss their studies actively, exchange information, and establish friendships through this seminar.
