The Actin Cytoskeleton Helps Neurons Survive Stroke: a Novel Protective Molecular Pathway in Cellular Edema
3月 26 @ 16:00 – 17:30
Date: March 26, 4 PM Shelley Halpain Professor Division of Biological Sciences UC San Diego Title of the talk: The Actin Cytoskeleton Helps Neurons Survive Stroke: a Novel Protective Molecular Pathway in Cellular Edema Language to be used: English Room: 103, Science Frontier Laboratory Building Short description of the talk: Neurons exposed to hypoxia hyperactivate glutamate receptors, which leads to loss of membrane potential, cell swelling, and oncosis. Dr. Halpain will describe a neuronal pro-survival mechanism whereby the actin cytoskeleton is rapidly reorganized in dendrites in response to glutamate receptor hyperactivation. Halpain Seminar flyer
