Long-Talk, Short-Talk and Poster session

All the presenters in the session will be reviewed by prominent internal and/or external judges. They will give some comments and feedback to every presenter. Also, some outstanding presenters will get award.

To support your better presentation, we will provide a practice session conducted by Professor James Hejna (Graduate school of Biostudies) such as Abstract Workshop.

Long-Talk

"Long-Talk" is held for participants who are in the preparation of publication of a paper or those already have any publication(s). Therefore we will have 27 min (20-min talk, 7-min discussion) for every talk in this session.

Evaluations and commendations will be given by 5 invited judges and 5 internal judges selected from the Graduate School of Biostudies. Participants in this sessions are requested to attend the Group discussion.

Bells

The chair will ring a bell as the following rules:

  • One time - 17 min.
  • Two times - 20 min.
  • Three times - 27 min.

Short-Talk

"Short-Talk" is held for participants who want to have a try of English presentation of their progress in their-own researches and discussion too. Presentation in this session is open regardless of their research performance, progress, or grade.

Therefore we will have 17 min (12-min talk, 5-min discussion) for every talk in this session.

Evaluations and commendations will be given by 9 invitees from overseas and 7 internal judges selected from the Graduate School of Biostudies. Participants in this sessions are requested to attend the Group discussion.

Bells

The chair will ring a bell as the following rules:

  • One time - 10 min.
  • Two times - 12 min.
  • Three times - 17 min.

Presentation in Poster session is open for every participants even they have little progress in their researches, e.g. master student or undergraduate. You are welcomed even if you present your future plan or just a brief introduction of your field or interest!

We strongly recommend the participants in this session to attend the Group discussion.

Rules and Templates

The poster presentation consists of two parts (one for odd number, the other for even), 1 hour for each so that all the participants can go around to see everyone's posters. You must use A0 size (841 mm x 1189 mm) paper. You can download template files from the list below.

All the posters should be put up in the morning of March 5th

The poster discussions for the posters with odd number are scheduled in 18:00 - 19:00 on March 5 (Tue). For the posters with even number are scheduled in 18:00 - 19:00 on March 6 (Wed).

Every presenter must remove the poster from 19:00 - 19:30 on March 6 (Wed), otherwise it would be discarded by the organizing committee.

Award

Some outstanding presentations / posters will be awarded. See Judges page for more detail.

Photograph

The committee members will take photographs during the presentation on the purpose of record. However, we respect your data, so we promise that we do NOT take any photograph that contains them. If we take such photographs by mistake, we would remove them or hide the data part.
